I'm Daly Gentry
INTERIOR DESIGNER, MENTOR, AND FOUNDER OF FIVE STAR DESIGN EXPERIENCE.
For 17 years, I’ve worked in new construction and large-scale builds. First at a boutique firm and for the last 8+ years in my own studio, Daly Gentry Designs.
Along the way I learned that design school doesn’t teach you how to run a project, work seamlessly with builders, or turn referrals into repeat opportunities.
What I discovered is that if I wanted my business to last (and my stress-levels to stay way down), I needed to do more than pick finishes.
I needed to build lasting relationships with clients, builders, and trades and back them up with solid systems.
IN THE EARLY DAYS OF RUNNING MY DESIGN FIRM...
So many project details lived in my head, which left builders and clients chasing me for answers.
Trust only goes so far when things fall through the cracks.
Because design school doesn't give us designers the practical tools for running complex design projects, so when I went out on my own, I had to figure things out the hard way.
Everything shifted when I built systems that held every decision, step, and finish.
